How to Lock Adult Channels with a PIN in IPTV Smarters, TiviMate and IBO Player

Le 24 Oct, 2026

If your subscription includes an optional 18+ package, the first thing to do after logging in is to lock adult channels with a PIN. On a living-room TV, a shared tablet or a box the children use for cartoons, an unlocked adult category is only one wrong click away. The good news is that every serious IPTV player ships with a parental lock; the bad news is that each one hides it in a different menu and behaves slightly differently. This guide walks through the exact settings in IPTV Smarters Pro, TiviMate and IBO Player, then covers the traps that make people believe the lock is on when it is not.

Before you start: how the adult package is delivered

On our service the 18+ package is optional and hidden by default. If you did not request it, the categories simply do not exist in your playlist, and there is nothing to lock. If you did request it, the channels arrive in one or more clearly named groups (typically a prefix such as XXX or ADULT in the category name) so you can target them precisely. You can check what is active on your line from the IPTV Adult service page or by asking on the contact page.

Two principles apply whatever the app:

  • Lock at the category level, not channel by channel. Channel lists change; categories are stable.
  • Lock the Live TV section and the VOD section separately. Many people lock the live groups and forget that the on-demand library has its own adult folder.

Lock adult channels with a PIN in IPTV Smarters Pro

IPTV Smarters Pro (Android, Android TV, Fire TV, iOS, Windows) uses a global parental password that applies to the whole app.

  1. Open the app and log in to your Xtream Codes account.
  2. From the home screen, open Settings (the gear icon at the top right).
  3. Select Parental Control. The first time, the app asks you to create a password. By default on many builds it is 0000; change it immediately.
  4. Go back to Live TV, open the category list and long-press (or press the menu key on a remote) the adult group. Choose Lock category. Repeat for every group with the adult prefix.
  5. Go to Movies and Series and do the same for any adult folders.
  6. Return to the home screen and open a locked category: the app must now ask for the password before showing a single title.

Useful detail: in Smarters the lock survives the Refresh of the playlist, but it does not survive Delete user. If you remove and re-add the line, you must redo the locks.

TiviMate: the strongest lock, if you set it correctly

TiviMate (Android TV, Fire TV, Google TV) separates the PIN from the category visibility, which gives you two options: hide the group entirely, or keep it visible but protected.

  1. Press the left arrow to open the side menu, then choose Settings.
  2. Open Parental controls. Toggle it on and enter a 4-digit PIN twice.
  3. Still in Settings, go to Playlists, select your playlist, then Manage groups.
  4. Highlight the adult group, press OK, and choose Lock. The group now shows a small padlock icon. If you prefer to hide it, choose Hide instead; a hidden group only reappears from this menu, and TiviMate asks for the PIN when parental controls are active.
  5. Open Settings > Playlists > (your playlist) > Manage VOD categories and lock or hide the adult folders there too.

Two settings in Parental controls deserve attention. Ask PIN for settings prevents anyone from unlocking the group from the menu without the code. Lock timeout defines how long the app stays unlocked after you enter the PIN; set it to Immediately if several people use the same remote, otherwise the group remains open until the app restarts. Note that TiviMate Premium is required for multiple playlists and some advanced features, but the parental lock itself is available in the free version.

IBO Player and IBO Player Pro

IBO Player (Smart TV Samsung and LG, Android, Fire TV) activates by MAC address and stores its parental settings on the device, not on the server.

  1. From the main screen, open Settings (bottom of the screen on TV, top right on mobile).
  2. Select Parental control or Change parental password. The default code is usually 0000; set a new one.
  3. Go back and open Live TV. Navigate to the adult category, open the options (long press OK, or the menu key) and tap Lock.
  4. Repeat under Movies and Series.
  5. Confirm by exiting to the home screen and re-entering the category: a PIN prompt must appear.

In IBO Player Pro, the parental section also offers Hide adult content, which removes the groups from the lists altogether. It is the simplest option for a TV the children use alone, because there is nothing to click on.

Mistakes that leave the door open

  • Keeping the default code. 0000 and 1234 are the first codes a teenager tries. Pick four digits nobody in the house can guess, and do not reuse the TV’s own PIN.
  • Locking live groups only. The VOD library is where most accidental discoveries happen. Check Movies and Series every time.
  • Trusting the search bar. In some versions of Smarters, a global search can list titles from locked categories; playback still asks for the PIN, but the names appear. If this bothers you, use TiviMate’s Hide option instead.
  • Forgetting the second device. The lock is stored on each device. A multi-screen plan with a box in the bedroom and a tablet in the kitchen needs the procedure on both.
  • Re-adding the playlist. Deleting and recreating the user wipes the locks in every app listed here.

What to do if a category is missing or unlockable

If the adult group does not appear at all, your line probably does not have the package enabled, which is the default. If it appears but the lock option is greyed out, update the app: older builds of IBO Player in particular had the parental menu disabled on some TV models. The FAQ page lists the current app versions we test with.
